10 Kings Rising in Europe
I have been sounding the alarm that the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the reelection of President Trump will be the catalysts for the rise of the 10 kings out from the old Roman Empire. These are the 10 toes of Nebuchadnezzar’s image in Daniel 2, and the 10 horns on the 4th beast (Roman Empire) of Daniel 7 & Rev. 13, who are the 10 kings who align with the Antichrist (little horn) in Revelation 17.
Just five days ago, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz delivered a speech in which he claimed that the “Pax Americana is over,” that the United States cannot be relied upon to defend Europe. Europe must rise to the occasion and become the dominant force against Russia’s aggression without the USA.
Below is his speech, with AI translating into English by cloning Merz’s voice.

Tim,
Do you think digital IT’S are going to be the mark of the beast?
Do you mean digital IDs? If so, I suppose that electronic identification will play a part. But I do not think a digital ID is itself the mark of the beast.
Unfortunately I don’t recall when exactly or what video, but a couple of years ago I was watching a video on YouTube and I think it was Angela Merkel speaking, the former Chancellor of Germany, or maybe Christine Lagarde (who knows now) and the discussion was around consolidating the European Union to 5 leaders. This was to make the voting process easier as some member states block ideas, laws, or whatever being put forward and this was causing problems.
At that time I thought, now that sounds very interesting, with the 10 kings/rulers prophecy in mind.
I have thought for a good few years now that things would have been further advanced than they now appear to be in this area of prophecy, especially considering the very likely appearance of the 2 prophets in 2029. Perhaps things will really accelerate at some point in the near future?
Also, Tim, I still have trouble accepting Trump’s peace deal is worthy of a seal. I consider the seals as a significant series of events and saving 19 peoples lives just doesn’t seem to qualify? And is there really peace in Israel? There is still fighting going on.
Obviously, it is significant for those poor souls involved and their families and what the endured. Thank God they were rescued.
At present, I think the all the seals will be either within the time of the 7 years of the tribulation or at the very least, may start much closer to it. I have always thought of them as undeniable events, with little room for doubt. Time will tell.
In your opinion Tim, is there something in the Bible that points to the possibility that Biblical prophecy is not obvious to believers? Obviously the wicked are blind and asleep.
Peter,
Whether Trump is related to the Seals is still a matter of “wait and see.” However, Trump’s role in reshaping the USA and the world order, setting the stage for the fulfillment of the 70th week, is without question, IMO. Europe is being forced to radically change due to Trump’s “America First” agenda, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. I have no doubt that this is what will lead to the rise of the 10 kings. The iron (authoritarianism) mixed with clay (democracy) is going to quickly take shape, but then also quickly crumble. Europe, as a bunch of independent democracies, where the people choose their leaders, will not be able to effectively withstand Russia’s dictatorial and centralized military leadership style. The present Europe is too fluid and disjointed to be an effective deterrent to Putin.
Exactly how quickly this will occur, and whether it occurs before the 70th week or during the first half of the 70th week, also remains to be seen. I don’t think we can determine this from biblical prophecy.
I see reason in the Aramaic text of Daniel 2:42 to think the 10-king confederacy will come into being before the 70th “seven” begins :
42 As the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of pottery [literally, “And toes of the feet, partly iron and partly clay”], so some of the kingdom [literally, “clay, part of the KINGDOM’S END”] will be strong and part of it will be brittle [literally, “broken”].
The inclusion of the Aramaic word for “end” in the phrase “part of the kingdom’s end” implies that this is describing the state of affairs at the tail end of the 10-king confederacy’s existence. Wouldn’t this imply that it had already been in existence for a significant amount of time beforehand, with the first half of the apocalypse only representing the tail end before the Antichrist takes charge to bring it back from the brink of collapse described in verse 43?
Karl,
I think the word “end” refers to the 10 kings being at the “end” of the 4th beast, which was the Roman Empire. Note that the 10 horns come up out of the 4th beast, which means the Roman Empire exists without the 10 horns first, which come up towards its end. Then the “little horn” (Antichrist) comes up after the 10, but also from the Roman Empire. Also, it is at the mid-point of the 70th week that the 10 kings burn Rome (the former capitol) with fire and then give their sovereignty to the Antichrist. So the 10 kings do hold power during the first half of the 70th week. But, I don’t see how it can be determined from Scripture when they arise.
I have always believed the Europeans would have to break with the U.S. to form the military power for the Antichrist. The European Union has never been a federal government like the United States with one person as commander in chief. When the ten nations give their power to the Antichrist this will form a federal government with the Antichrist as commander in chief with the power to use their militaries to wage war. The 10 nations will develop their military power because the United States will no long want to spend the money to protect Europe. The French have already said that Europe needs to be able to protect itself.
Also, as God used the sword of the Babylonians to punish Israel, could God use the sword of the US to destroy Israel’s enemies?
.
Harold,
I agree with what you wrote except the last sentence. IMO, the US distancing itself from Europe (a major player in the end-time scenario) implies what I have proposed for the last several years, that the US will not be part of the Antichrist’s dominion. God Himself is going to judge Israel’s enemies supernaturally during the ministry of the two witnesses in Jerusalem. They will call fire down from heaven and strike Israel’s enemies with various plagues. This “shield” for Israel will allow them to rebuild the Temple and institute the Mosaic sacrificial system again (Rev. 11), which is the precursor to the national repentance required in the Law of Moses (Deut. 30:1-4), precited by the prophets (Mal. 4:4-6), and predicted also in the NT (Rom. 11:11-28).
One additional question. The statue in Daniel had two legs with each having five toes. The Roman Empire had two parts. The western part ruled from Rome and the eastern empire ruled from Constantinople (Istanbul today). Is it reasonable to believe 5 of the nations will come from countries that were part of the eastern empire and 5 from the western empire?
I guess that is possible. But I do not think the imagery requires that. What is required IMO is that all 10 come from the “fourth beast” (Dan. 7) which was definitely the Roman Empire. Yes, the Roman Empire did have an eastern and western component for a time. But it was unified during the time of Jesus and the Apostles.
Speaking of the Antichrist, I see the US military has just been bombing the heck (again) out of Syria. Maybe that will wake up Antiochus and get things rolling ; )
LOL
Tim,
I’ve been watching closely Canadas move towards a closer alliance with the EU, including joining its defense framework.
How do you see Canadas role in the coming beast empire playing out, especially given its close proximity to the U.S., and what are your thoughts on this already-formed 10-nation strike force?
Interestingly, there already exists a 10-nation alliance in the Joint Expeditionary Force – a military strike group – and is already training together as part of Ursula Von der Leyens “Readiness 2030” defense proposal.
Prophetic times to be sure.
Doug
Doug,
I try to base my opinions regarding current events and trends on Scripture alone. So I have no opinion regarding Canada, except that I do not think any nation will be directly part of Antichrist’s 42-month reign that was not contiguous to the old Roman Empire (4th beast of Daniel 7). This opinion is based on the fact that the 10 horns/kings come up within the 4th beast which is definitely the Roman Empire, and the 10 kings give over their sovereignty to the Antichrist according to Rev. 11. I know most people disagree, citing the statements in Revelation about “the whole world” and “all who dwell on the earth.” However, “the whole world” refers to the Roman Empire in Acts 11:28. And the clause “all who dwell on the earth” is better translated “all who dwell on the land,” and probably refers to the land of Israel, as the Greek word almost always refers to a specific territory, often Israel (LXX), and never to “earth” as the name of a planet.
Tim, I believe the recent events in Venezuela have revealed how much trouble the American financial system is in world wide. The BRICS system is breaking us and Venezuela oil and application to join BRICS officially was going to be a disaster for us. I believe and have suspected for a long time that our country is about to become completely irrelevant on the world stage, greatly accelerating the rebuilding of the Roman Empire.
I do not believe that what was done in Venezuela was to take out an evil cartel dictator. It was to coerce cooperation for the American dollar for oil. The kind of oil that we need because most of our refineries are not capable of processing the oil we pump out and a refinery overhaul would be a disaster due to down time. All that to say, Europe and the rest of world is soon to be own their own. The mighty eagle, imo, is about have its wings clipped on the world stage.
Michael,
I agree that the US was in very serious trouble, especially under the Biden administration. While intervention in central and south America may seem to be counter-productive to Trump’s “America first” agenda, IMO it is very consistent. Trump is basically kicking China and Russia out of the western hemisphere, something absolutely necessary for the US to recover and survive, but also to make us more self-sufficient, thus insulated from other chaotic world events. He is also partially responsible for Russia losing its ally Syria, and possibly Iran soon.
Trump is also in the process dismantling the European “globalist” agenda. The Europeans are not our friends, and Trump knows it. Our enemies have been using drugs and immorality (wokeism) to poison the population, using mass migration (including criminals and gangs) to destabilize and dilute our elections, and oil to undermine the economy. Trump is being very consistent in his strategy outlined in the recent White House document titled 2025-National-Security-Strategy. https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/2025-National-Security-Strategy.pdf . If he can pull off regime change in Venezuela, Columbia, and Cuba (which seems to be his goal), and possibly get rid of the cartels in Mexico, a whole new situation regarding trade will emerge. We will be far less dependent on China and Europe. We will soon see whether he will be successful. If he is, Europe is going to have to change radically very quickly. Their “globalist” utopia is about to blow up in their faces.
Thanks your reply Tim, Either way this is an explosive situation for the world at this point. I think possibly we will see what happens in 6 months or so to see how things play out in Venezuela as far as regime change. I don’t see a strong plan, concerning regime change, from the Trump Admins on that. It well known how corrupt the military is down there and how all the generals have their own little fiefdoms. What most int he public don’t see is the financial war against the USA is in full force. If we don’t so something drastic exactly as you mentioned above we will as a country will crash face first. I really don’t see a plan that goes beyond the invasion to fix the problems after taking action in Venezuela. I think you’re 100% correct in saying “If he can pull off regime change in Venezuela, Columbia, and Cuba (which seems to be his goal), and possibly get rid of the cartels in Mexico, a whole new situation regarding trade will emerge.” How the regime change happens is what really matters. Hoping those country leaders cooperate with “gunboat diplomacy” and get with the program is not going to work imo. Boots on the ground is not something Trump is interested in and I’m glad because history is replete with those failures. Same goes for all of the Middle East where it’s the same thing with Russia and China doing everything they can to destabilize American influence financially. I will say this, at least Trump isn’t lying about why. (Bush’s Weapons of mass destruction) Sanctions and Tariffs are not cutting it since those under sanction are using systems like BRICS to go around them. I guess we have to wait and see how it’s done because the questions on that point are not being answered. We are in a war for survival. Again I 100% agree, “Our enemies have been using drugs and immorality (wokeism) to poison the population, using mass migration (including criminals and gangs) to destabilize and dilute our elections, and oil to undermine the economy.”
Michael,
It is interesting to keep a finger on the pulse of current events and try to analyze the trends in light of prophecy. But for me, the purpose is so I can obey Luke 21:36. I operate under the assumption that God is moving the players around for His end-time plan, which seems to be becoming clearer with each passing day. I don’t worry about politics or whether Trump or anyone else will be successful, or whether the US is in trouble or not. I have no fear no matter who is running the nation. The whole world is in severe trouble. My concern is how Christians should interact and react to the changing world events. I have seen very few who are willing to heed the biblical instructions. Most American Christians seem oblivious to biblical prophecy (due to bad or no eschatology taught in churches), and many of the rest appear to be placing their hope in political figures, especially Trump. But he is just a pawn on God’s chess-board. When he has fulfilled his momentary purpose, God will dispose of him just like He has disposed of every other ruler in history.
You’re absolutely right, Tim. And it isn’t only American Christians who seem unaware of biblical prophecy — it’s the same here in the UK and in most West African countries, which is where my family is from. Many believers are deeply religious, yet they are not preparing for what is coming because of beliefs like the rapture, or the idea that we are already living in the Kingdom age. These are often presented as the views of ‘true Christians’ or ‘true disciples,’ but I don’t believe they align with what Scripture actually teaches at all.
So what is the wisest course of action for believers living in Europe — especially in the UK? Should relocation be something we seriously consider?
Shari,
I do not think relocation as a means to escape what the Bible says is coming is an option for most believers, at least not yet, nor do I think it is wise in most cases unless one is in immediate danger. I have often referenced in my preaching/teaching the “Hagar vs. Sarah” approach in how we deal with life. The “Hagar” approach is to make decisions based on human wisdom, fear, the news, impatience, etc., in order to avoid apparent discomfort or to “help” God take care of us. The result of that kind of thinking is obvious from Abraham’s story. The “Sarah” method is to wait patiently on God to make His move, trusting His promises and seeking to humbly meet whatever conditions He has attached to His promises, and to make sure that we are trying our best to please Him in everything (Heb. 11:6). “Helping” God by worldly methods in situations where He has made conditional promises for our wellbeing is simply displaying a lack of faith.
Matt. 6:33-34 (NKJV) 33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Luke 21:36 (NKJV) 36 “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.
So the key in our situation, as we are approaching the coming of the Lord, and the time of trouble is fast approaching, is to make our first priority advancing His Kingdom and adopting His “righteousness,” and trust that He will take care of our daily needs. Then, watch and pray, thus strive to be found worthy to “escape” what is coming.
Over the years I have learned both by study and experience that God is looking for child-like faith in His promises, humble obedience to His word, and care for others. God delivers His people from trouble when these characteristics are their priority. So when we seek to be that kind of Christian, God takes care of the rest.
Here is a blog post I did in Jan. 2022 dealing with “Who will Inherit the Kingdom.” It is also relevant to the question of who God will preserve in times of trouble vs. who He will ignore.
