ParticipantHi br. Tim,
In God’s covenant with David,
> 1 Chronicles 17:11-12
11 When your days are fulfilled that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up one of your descendants after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. 12 He shall build for Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.how is “He shall build for Me a house” going to be fulfilled? Is it through Jesus building the church, the house of God? Or do you think it refers to Jesus overseeing the building of a millennial temple (the one in Ezekiel), or both?
Or could it be that, that part was fulfilled by Solomon?

KeymasterPramod,
It is both a “household” as well as the Millennial Temple. The Davidic Covenant uses the term “house” in reference to both the physical Temple as well as the “household” of David.
1 Chron. 17:9 “Moreover I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own and move no more; nor shall the sons of wickedness oppress them anymore, as previously, 10 since the time that I commanded judges to be over My people Israel. Also I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore I tell you that the LORD will build you a house. 11 And it shall be, when your days are fulfilled, when you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your seed after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. 12 He shall build Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. 13 I will be his Father, and he shall be My son; and I will not take My mercy away from him, as I took it from him who was before you. 14 And I will establish him in My house and in My kingdom forever; and his throne shall be established forever.”‘”
The “household” God is building for Messiah is being built now (1 Tim. 3:15). But the “House” that Messiah will build is a physical Temple for the Millennial Kingdom.

ParticipantThank you. By seeing this verse, I was thinking, could it be the other way.
“the LORD will build you a house” = The Lord will build David a house (i.e., household, including the Messiah as David’s son).
“He shall build Me a house” = David’s seed will build God a house (which is the church)!!!You said:
>>The “household” God is building for Messiah is being built now (1 Tim. 3:15).
What God will build is for “you”=DavidBut “he” refers to David’s seed after him, the Messiah.
