Is this just a coincidence?

Is this just a coincidence?

February 1, 2026 Timothy Comments 5 comments

In October 2025, President Trump proposed an enormous arch to be built in Washington DC for the 250th Independence Day celebration. The proposed design, pictured below, was first posted on X by the architect firm (Harrison Design) on Sept. 4th, 2025. It has a winged woman atop the arch flanked by two eagles. She is holding a torch in her right hand, and a shield in the left hand.

On Oct. 9th, the model of the arch was displayed in the Oval Office, and Trump began to promote its construction to be completed by Independence Day (July 4), 2026, America’s 250th birthday.

Below is a more detailed picture of the model.

The woman with the torch is obviously modeled after the Statue of Liberty, which welcomes to the USA those being persecuted, promising them liberty. The shield is a symbol of defensive protection on many US icons. But the eagle’s wings given to her are entirely new.

The red X on map below shows the proposed site of the Independence Arch in the roundabout entrance to Arlington National Cemetery, which is also the west entrance to Arlington Memorial bridge which spans the Potomac River towards the Lincoln Memorial.

At the entrances to Arlington Cemetery are several statues of eagles, and several other eagle statues and reliefs, and many other depictions of eagles on tombstones throughout the cemetery. The picture below faces east across the bridge spanning the Potomac River from the roundabout. The Lincoln Memorial is in the background. Note the two eagles.

Looking towards the west from the same spot, the below image shows the proposed arch site within the roundabout into Arlington Cemetery.

Upon entering the cemetery grounds, one is greeted by two more similar statues of eagles.

I find it hard to ignore the apparent coincidences between Trump’s proposed monument and the following Scriptures:

Luke 17:26-37 (LGV) 26 And just as occurred in the days of Noah, like this it will be also in the days of the Son of Man. 27 They were eating, they were drinking, they were giving in marriage until the day Noah entered the ark. And the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise, just as it happened in the days of Lot, they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building. 29 Yet in the day in which Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from the sky and destroyed them all. 30 It will be the same on the day the Son of Man is being revealed. 31 In that day, whoever will be on the housetop and his supplies within his house, he should not come down to collect them. And the one in the field, do not turn back to what is behind, 32 remembering Lot’s wife! 33 The one seeking to keep his soul will lose it. But the one losing it will preserve it alive. 34 I tell you, on this night two will be on one bed, the one will be received near and the other will be rejected. 35 There will be two [women] at the same place grinding meal, the one will be received near and the other will be rejected.” 37 And responding they said to Him, “Where Master?” So He said to them, “Where the body [may be], there also the eagles will gather together.”

Matthew’s account substitutes the word “corpse” (ptoma) where Luke has “body.” So clearly dead body is the sense.

Revelation 12:1-17 (LGV) And a great sign appeared in the sky – a woman, having been clothed with the sun, and the moon beneath her feet, and on her head a wreath of twelve stars. 2 And being with child, she cried out, travailing and laboring to give birth. 3 And another sign appeared in the sky, and look, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns. 4 And his tail drags a third of the stars of the sky, and threw them to the ground. And the dragon was standing before the woman who was about to give birth, that when she should bear her child he might devour [it]. 5 And she gave birth to a male Son who is about to shepherd all the nations with a rod of iron. And her child was taken up to God and His throne. 6 And the woman escaped into the wilderness where she has a place there having been prepared from God (so that they may be nourishing her there) a thousand two hundred sixty days. 7 And there was war in the sky. Michael and his messengers fought the dragon, and the dragon fought and his messengers. 8 And they did not prevail, nor was any more room found for them in the sky. 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the original snake called the Slanderer and the Adversary, the one deceiving the whole world. He was cast down to the ground, and his messengers were cast down with him. 10 And I heard a great voice in the sky saying; “Finally! Salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God and the authority of His Anointed has come because the Accuser of our comrades, the one accusing them before our God day and night, has been thrown down 11 and they were victorious over him through the blood of the Lamb, and through the word of their witness, and they did not love their lives until death. 12 Therefore rejoice, skies, and those dwelling in them. Alas! to the inhabitants of the land and the sea, because the Slanderer has come down to you having great anger, having known that he has a brief time.” 13 And when the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the ground, he pursued the woman who gave birth to the male [child]. 14 And two wings of a great eagle were given to the woman, so that she might fly to the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished there a time, times, and half a time from before the snake. 15 And the snake projected a current of water from his mouth after the woman that he might sweep her away with the current. 16 And the land rescued the woman. And the land opened its mouth and swallowed the current the dragon projected from its mouth. 17 And the dragon was enraged against the woman, and departed to battle with the remnants of her seed, of those who are keeping the commandments of God and holding the testimony about Jesus.

This prophecy was intended to invoke the following passage which refers to the exodus from Egypt.

Exodus 19:4 (NKJV) 4 `You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.

So what do you think? Is all of this just coincidence? Am I imagining connections were there are none? I know that confirmation bias is a real thing, so I want to hold such things as possibilities that deserve our notice, rather than claiming that such is the proper interpretation of the above Scriptures. Only time will tell.

    Tim,
I can see following possible connections in your suggestion:
    • Arc de Trump is a prophetic sign for the congregation fleeing from Europe (or more exact: Old Rome) to the USA, illustrated by the woman in Rev 12.
    • The two wings of the woman on top of the arch represent the “two wings of a great eagle… given to the woman” in Rev 12:14, also prophesied in Ex 19:4.
    • The torch in the hand of the woman signifies “welcome”.
    • The shield in her other hand signifies defense.
    • The eagles on the arch (and in the neighborhood) represent Luke 17:37: “Where the body [may be], there also the eagles will gather together.” (“Body” is Christ’s body = the assembly?)

    Two questions:
    • If the connections are real, do you think Trump has any clue that he is fulfilling prophesies? Does he even want America to be welcoming more immigrants?
    • Does the date on which Trump proposed the arch (Oct 2025) has any significance as the start of the seven years of plenty? How exact does the date fit into the equation?

Your hypothesis is very interesting and, if true, will affect me greatly since I am European (unfortunately) 😊. At least if God lets me live that long.

      Anders,

I don’t think the ‘body’ refers to the ‘body of Christ,’ because Matthew’s account has “corpse,” which hardly applies either to Christ or His body. Christ arose, and Paul speaks of believers as having been “buried” and then “risen with Christ” in baptism.

IMO, the “corpse” concept fits better with the location of the monument, at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery.

I do not know if the dates this was first reported by the media are significant. According to X-AI, the original design was first publicly posted on X by the architect on Sept. 4. Here is a link to the original X post. https://x.com/nic_charbonneau/status/1963603279658602674.

Then the model of the arch was first unveiled in the Oval Office on Oct. 9, 2025, which was during Sukkot. It may be just coincidence that this occurred during Sukkot in light of my previous speculation regarding a possible 7 years of plenty following the pattern in Pharaoh’s dream, and the possibility of Trump fulfilling the first of the four horsemen. But the “coincidences” seem to be piling up.

If this is going to be part of the fulfillment of prophecy, I doubt Trump is aware of it. But God can put ideas in his mind, even perhaps appealing to his massive ego, in order to get him to fulfill God’s secret plan. “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes” (Prov. 21:1 NKJV).

RE: Trump welcoming more immigrants, his pattern seems to suggest that he views himself as a defender of Christianity. The current removal of criminal illegals could very well be a precursor to bring in huge numbers of Christians seeking refuge. Unless something drastic occurs here, Trump’s presidency will end on Jan. 20, 2029. But the flight of the winged woman to the place prepared for her is still a few years after that (around Passover either 2033 or 2036). Who will be president then? Maybe Vance? Who knows. We are living in very exciting times.

Good morning everyone from London U.K.

Nice thoughts and suggestions. Very interesting.

Question for pastor Tim and others,
The hiding place /place of safety will be revealed in the first 3.5 years by Elijah and Apostle John right?

Is this Arlington cemetery location that we are speculating is just exclusively for European Christians and for the believers who live in whole USA? Is this location a rural part? I’m just wondering because its meant to be outside cities right!?

And for the believers who lives in other parts of the world have their pockets of place of safety outside the cities?

Anything to do with Greenland for a possible location of hiding as it has all kinds of seeds stored in there apparently!

Myself and our little group are watching and praying as we approach the end of gentiles period in 2030. Very scary but trusting in God and HIS character and HIS pattern how He preserves HIS own.

We are indeed live in an interesting time!

      Robert,

The time for faithful believers to escape, and God’s supernatural assistance in this escape, will be at the “abomination of desolation.” The location is not revealed in Scripture, but it will be made known by the 2 witnesses. I strongly suspect that the message of the “7 thunders” which John heard but was not allowed to write (Rev. 10), is the message of the two witnesses and contains the location(s). It is possible there are more than one location. But the use of the singular “her place” suggests one location.

Revelation states clearly that God prepares the place, so there is no need to worry about storing up seeds, etc. I suspect the reason the location(s) has been kept secret until that time is because Christians would not wait to flee when God said to do so but would instead attempt to relocate to gain an advantage. This end-time “exodus” is going to require a lot of trust and patience. We don’t want to repeat Abraham’s mistake with Hagar. God has promised to provide the way of escape supernaturally; to give the woman her “wings” at that specific time so she can fly to the place previously prepared by God. Remember that when God told Abraham to leave his homeland and go to the place that He promised, Abraham left without knowing where he was going (Heb. 11:8). God intentionally withholds certain information in order to force His people to TRUST Him. The KIND of preparation Christian ought to be doing now, while waiting on God to make His move, is clearly outlined in Revelation, especially in the 7 Letters (chs. 2-3) and in Rev. 7:14 & Rev. 19:7-9.
