ParticipantPastor Tim,
You have shared extensive knowledge regarding the Son being God’s agent throughout the OT. As I have been listening to your teaching (current on Lesson 30) on the OT Survey, there appears to be a discrepancy. You mentioned in Lesson 29 that God (Yahweh) personally spoke the 10 Commandments as well as inscribed them with His finger (Time Stamp between 7:00 and 13:00), yet in your notes Exodus part 2, D; 4, you state vss. 9-25 The Son descends on Mt. Sinai on the 3rd day (Sabbath) & speaks to all Israel.
Also, in previous lesson notes from “Yahweh’s Personal Agent BBI IIc: 01”, it is stated:
H. Judg. 2:1-2 Yahweh’s Messenger claimed credit for the Exodus and the Mosaic
Covenant: “I led you up from Egypt and brought you to the land of which I swore to your fathers; and I said, ‘I will never break My covenant with you.’ And ‘you shall make no
covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars.’ But you have not obeyed My voice.”Also – IV-B_1. Acts 7:30,35,38 identified the same “Messenger” who spoke to Moses in the
burning bush also spoke the covenant on Mt. Sinai, yet Exod. 19:18 says Yahweh
descended on Mt. Sinai and gave the covenant. You did mention in Lesson 29 about a distinction concerning the 10 commandments. When these passages listed above mentions “The covenant”, is this exclusive of the 10 commandments?
As a side note, Jesus makes the statement “And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form”, but I am guessing this comment is solely directed at the Jews who questioned Him.
Thank you for your time…when you get a chance.

KeymasterThe Messenger of Yahweh is called “Yahweh” and “God.” This is true in the burning bush account and several other places. The reason is found in Exod. 23:20-23 where God says that the Messenger of Yahweh who would go before Israel to bring them to the Promised Land bears Yahweh’s name.
It was the Son who descended upon Mt. Sinai, who wrote the 10 Commandments, being “the finger of God,” and whose voice Israel heard declaring those commandments. Jesus’ statement “You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form” did not only apply to Jesus’ immediate audience, but to all Israel throughout history (cf. Jn. 1:18). This statement was meant to imply that Jesus was the one who spoke from Mt. Sinai, and the one with whom Moses spoke face to face.
