      Tim,
Who are the guests at the marriage supper of the Lamb?

Rev 19:9 says: ”Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!” It seems like more than the bride is ”called,” which also seems obvious from Matt 22:11 where the ”king” had ”guests” at his ”wedding”, (one of whom did not have the right garment).

According to Rev 21:9-10, the bride is Jerusalem, which I previously thought includes both believing Jews and Gentiles. In commentaries I have found two possible explanations:
      * The bride is believers living at the return of Christ, and the guests are those resurrected.
      * The bride is believing Jews, and the guests are believing Gentiles.

      What are your thoughts?
      /Anders

      Anders,

The “Bride” in Rev. 21-22 is the New (restored) Jerusalem. I think the “guests” are the individual believers, both Jew and Gentile, both living and resurrected. In the OT we have Jerusalem and her children in passages such as Isa. 50:1 etc.

      Tim,
Do you mean that the bride is the universal assembly collectively, and the guests are the individual believers?

Can you see any contradiction against the rest of the Bibel if the bride is believing Jews and the guests are believing Gentiles?
